Help Flash | IoT
Help Flash, one of the leading manufacturers of emergency beacons, saw the need to redesign its product to provide it with sufficient connectivity, geopositioning and intelligence to meet the requirements imposed by the Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT); but it also faced other major challenges in designing and manufacturing its product.
The IoT engineering team at SEIDOR was responsible for designing and implementing the software solution for this project, based on the services provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
One of the main technological aspects required that the beacon have the maximum possible coverage. By means of the agreement between Vodafone and Help Flash, IoT devices would incorporate a SIM connected to Vodafone's NB-IoT network, which would allow the device to stay connected for its lifetime on its internal battery alone, even in spaces with poor coverage thanks to so-called 'deep coverage'.
On the other hand, it was important that the whole process of provisioning / de-provisioning of connected beacons be automatic and transparent for users, distributors and manufacturers, so SEIDOR had to integrate with the telecom operator's platforms to optimise it.
