SAP Business One Overview 2024: Richness in Business Processes and Version 11

SAP Business One continues to be SAP’s most popular ERP solution with more than 78,000 customers using this popular end-to-end system globally.

Speaking in his annual review, Rainer Zinow, Senior Vice President, Head of SAP Midmarket Product Management, outlined how the solution is now used by more than 1.2 million users and attracts more new customers into SAP than any other solution.

Rainer said that SAP Business One is an ‘integral part of SAP’s portfolio of ERP solutions’ and commented how the solution is doing ‘super-well’.

The solution is available in 28 languages and used globally in more than 170 countries, allowing small businesses to grow internationally, without having to replace or upgrade their business management system.

In addition to the ‘richness of business processes’, Rainer said this is one of SAP Business One’s ‘unique selling propositions’ against similar applications.

Future developments

Alongside a fully protected core, SAP plans to further enhance the features and functionality of the Version 10 web client. Around half of the planned development work has now been completed, with new features, similar to the desktop version, and the inclusion of popular eco-system add-ons on the agenda.

SAP is also working on new localisations to help organisations stay compliant with local regulations. Additionally, Rainer maintained his intention to work closely with SAP partners to add new functionality requested by end-users.

2024 Priorities

SAP has outlined several other priorities for SAP Business One this year, including extending the features and functionality of the popular Version 10 web client.

In 2023, Rainer outlined how SAP’s main area of development focused on creating a solid technology platform for organisations to optimise processes and, more importantly, protect their data.

The foundation is all about a secure environment in SAP Business One. SAP have prepared extra protection against cyber crime’s change in tactics to target both large enterprises and smaller businesses alike.

He added that in addition to new security features, SAP is constantly running various scans of its software to identify any new issues or threats. “We want to provide you with the latest version that is rock solid. That is a promise for the years to come. Security always comes first,” said Rainer.

To stay protected with the latest security features, SAP has reminded users to upgrade to the latest SAP Business One Feature Pack and to stay on the latest Support Pack to fully protect their system against any attacks.

Rainer outlined how SAP has committed to continuously enhance Version 10 into 2024 and beyond. “For the years to come, SAP Business One will be a key part of our portfolio,” he added.

SAP plans to outline details for the release of SAP Business One Version 11 later this year.
