What is RISE by SAP? seidor's strategic role for customer's move to cloud

A few month ago SAP announced a new product and named it RISE with SAP. What is this solution and what does it offer for current SAP licenses holders and new customers?

RISE by SAP is not a new product the same as SAP S/4HANA was when it was introduced in 2015. Rather it’s a set of new functionalities through bundling of existing SAP assets which offer customers at all stages of digital transformation a completely new way to redesign processes for better business outcomes.

RISE by SAP

RISE by SAP helps companies accelerating Innovation, speed, and agility. It helps companies to get started with cloud SAP solutions. It accelerates cloud adoption providing customers with all tools they need in a constantly changing digital business. The solution combines several key areas of business that were selected for RISE with SAP. With this new Business Transformation as a Service offering, SAP offers one bundle of products and services that help customers start their journey to the Intelligent Enterprise at their own pace and on their own terms.

Main solutions include SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Network and also market leading intelligent ERP, SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP S/4HANA is a leading intelligent resource planning suite, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the hosted version for companies that are looking to avoid running the solution on-premise. It’s a combination of line of business solutions that cover finance, supply chain and supplier relationship management, sales, and R&D with more options of planning. It runs on SAP HANA real time business data and analytics.

Hyperscalers

Also, SAP RISE offers System Hosting options. Since SAP S/4HANA Cloud is run well on the cloud, customers have an option to choose a system host. While SAP offers customers the chance to run the solution on SAP servers, there are a number of hyperscalers also offer the hosting an SAP S/4HANA cloud solution. Process Mining

Another important solution SAP offers with RISE is Business Process Intelligence. This solution will allow customers to analyse data and deep dive into systems data to see what is working well and what is not, understand how users work within the system to find out frictions and gaps in the processes. To strengthen this functionality, SAP has acquired Signavio in January 2021. One example of value based customer story is ASMAK in UAE. Alliance Food Company (ASMAK), a subsidiary of ADX-listed International Holding Company (IHC), is the leading provider of fresh and frozen seafood across the region. The company’s AED 200mn investment in one of the largest seafood factories in the Middle East enables to process an initial 40,000 tons annually, with scope to increase capacity to 60,000 tons. ASMAK has implemented SAP S/4HANA with the goal of improving the speed of transactions, operational excellence and delivery time. The key challenges they were looking to overcome with SAP implementation included the lack of online processing of transactions leading to manual input and higher risk of human error, lack of online data for effective decision making, supply chain and production inefficiencies, high inventory level, inventory loss, customer dissatisfaction due to inconsistent quality and late deliveries, and non-traceability of products across the supply chain.
